KOPS PLEDGE

by Rebecca Byczynski – KOPS since 2004

TOPS#NY 1110, Silver Creek

Becoming a KOPSŪ means more than just achieving your goal.  It is more than just a TITLE!

It means you have worked hard to get to where you are comfortable with yourself and you are at a healthy weight. You should be proud of your accomplishment!!

I am an intelligent person

TOPSŪ teaches us to be intelligent about our food choices. It shows us that intelligent food choices are not the only things that help us reach our goal. Portion control and exercise are just as important!

I have controlled my emotions and not let my emotions control me.

Controlling your emotional eating is difficult alone, that is where TOPSŪ support helps!

We are not alone in this endeavor.  We have a great support system thru our TOPSŪ family!

The KEY is, anything in moderation!

Every time I am tempted to use food to satisfy my frustrated desires,

There are times when a KOPSŪ gets frustrated with their struggle to maintain and stay within their leeway.  You feel like giving in to your food desires.  This is when you need to be strong and look past your frustrations and reach for that support system.  Attend meetings and get support from your TOPSŪ family! Remember the KEY is Moderation!!

Build up my injured ego

The TOPSŪ family is there for those injured egos!! It is all right to ask for help. We may not have all the answers, but we are willing to help you find answers and support you in your efforts!

Or dull my senses

Sometimes your senses do get DULL or numb from the constant battle to maintain your goal.

Maintaining and staying within your leeway is just as difficult as reaching your goal!

I will remember that I am to be an example of TOPS can do

It is a HONOR to be an example to my fellow TOPSŪ members! It doesn’t matter how much time it takes to reach your goal. A goal that would not have been achieved without the support of my TOPSŪ family! A goal that IS and ALWAYS will be a struggle!

As I KEEP OFF POUNDS SENSIBLY!!

This is the hardest part of being a KOPSŪ, keeping off those unwanted pounds and maintaining your goal. People think just because you have reached your goal to become a KOPSŪ, it is easy after that.  That is not true! WE, as KOPSŪ, struggle just like the rest of the TOPSŪ members. It is just as difficult if not more to maintain, as it is to lose!  Sometimes we need MORE support from our TOPSŪ family, especially if we do go over or under our leeway! When you reach your KOPSŪ status, I will be right next to you, supporting you and giving the credit to TOPSŪ!!
